GMC Acadia vs. Kia Telluride
Large SUVs require powerful engines to keep them moving, and the GMC Acadia makes life easy with two powertrain options. The GMC Acadia's standard engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, producing 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The Kia Telluride appears to have the advantage here with a based 3.8-liter V6 delivering 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. But, the Telluride only has one engine option. The GMC Acadia also offers a 3.6-liter V6, outputting 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque. The optional engine gives the Acadia the advantage.

Driving a large SUV doesn't mean you need to sacrifice fuel economy to enjoy the spacious interior. Avoiding frequent trips to the gas station allows you to enjoy the road at your pace and prevents you from worrying about gas prices that seem to fluctuate. While three-row SUVs won't offer fuel economy to match some of their compact cousins, the Acadia still manages to outshine its Telluride rival. The Acadia equips a 19-gallon gas tank, providing a fuel economy of 22/29 mpg city/highway when utilizing the base turbocharged engine. With the V6 AWD model, you'll get a 22-gallon gas tank and an EPA-estimated 22/27 mpg city/highway. The Telluride's lone engine provides an estimated 20/26 mpg city/highway, while the AWD version is slightly worse with only 19/24 mpg. You'll also have to make do with an 18.8-gallon gas tank.
GMC Acadia vs. Hyundai Palisade
The Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride have many of the same strengths, which means they also share many of the same weaknesses you won't find with the GMC Acadia. The GMC SUV offers two engine options to the Palisade's one engine configuration, a 3.8-liter V6 which produces less horsepower and pound-feet of torque than the Acadia's V6. With the Acadia's fuel economy, you can keep the adventure going longer, offering 22/29 mpg city/highway. The Hyundai Palisade can only offer 19/26 mpg city/highway and equips an eight-speed automatic transmission to help you do it. The GMC SUV will provide a smoother experience with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The Hyundai Palisade provides a luxurious experience, offering many amenities you'll struggle to find in other lineups. However, one key difference between the Palisade and GMC Acadia may make up your mind, especially as hot summer months roll by. The Acadia boasts a tri-zone automatic climate control system, allowing the driver, front, and rear-seat passengers to control their preferred temperature. Sensors in the vehicle can even adjust the temperature accordingly. The Palisade won't be as helpful - the lineup only offers a dual-zone automatic climate control system and requires you to upgrade to the next trim level to unlock.
